What’s the return policy on these?

September 12, 2005

I need new genes. I check too many boxes on family medical history forms. And since I doggedly refuse to get myself checked up, I don’t check any boxes on personal medical history. Did I ever mention how much I admire ostriches?

On a related note, if you were faced with your mortality, what would you spend the rest of the day doing?
a. Carry on with the plans you had - You always knew you were going to die eventually, so how is this news.
b. Make new, more exciting plans - Since you’re going to die, might as well get the most out of life till you do, starting now.
c. Mope around at home all day, then order pizza at night. Kick yourself for not getting a 27th floor condo with windows that actually open.

  1. Carry on the with the plans you had. Of course, in my case, these usually consist of moping around the home all day then ordering pizza at night. And if it’s any consolation 15th floor windows that don’t open are just as useless.

  2. Make more exciting plans, mope about why I didn’t make them sooner, and wish I never moved out of my 11th floor apartment which had windows that actually opened. Wait, the last one I already do. Ah well.

Finally had a chance to comment. Been stopping by since a while, of course :)

  3. Megha: You think 11 floors would do it? I like 15 at the least, just to be sure - wouldn’t want to the spend my remaining years recovering from broken bones.
    Anyway, welcome :)

Gargravarr: Are you sure you’d be able to fit through a window? Think you need to look for a place with a balcony ;)

  4. Oh I would do a lot of things different. For one, I would quit being a corporate slave. I would chop my hair short, move with my books & Mac to La Mancha or Tuscany & live on a diet of tiramisu, sushi & copious quantities of Lagar de Cervera! Did I forget to mention that some dancin will also be done?

  5. Ahh … bliss. Though I think Sushi and Tiramisu balance each other out (in caloric content), so you can get started on that one right away (there’s always multivitamins for the rest) :)
